Cicero-North Syracuse's girls, Baldwinsville's boys, and both boys and girls from Jamesville-DeWitt were just a level above the competition Thursday at the Salt City Athletic Conference indoor track and field championships at Onondaga Community College's SRC Arena.
Girls Metro Division
The Northstars won the Metro Division girls title with a total team score of 188. They also finished first in nine of the total 16 events.
Sophomore Gabby Putman led the way with a top finish in the 3,000-meter run in 10:11.95, a personal record and a top 25 time in the country. She also placed first in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:41.38, another personal record.
Gabby's sister, senior Kate Putman, won the 1,000-meter run with a personal best and top 10 in the country time of 2:49.76. Junior Marissa Doty set a personal record in the 55 dash (7.57), and her time in the 300-meter dash (42.43) was good enough to rank in the top 50 in the state.
Junior Morgan Hayes won the long jump with a distance of 15-11.25, while fellow junior Jasmine Ayre was the top leaper in the triple jump with a distance of 35-6, a top 50 ranking in the state.
The Northstars also took first place in the 4x200 (Marissa Doty, Jaydin Mackey, Grace Murray and Hannah Boyle) with a time of 1:49.07, and in the 4x800 (Katy Harbold, Elliana Ballagh, Marissa Navarra and Kate Putman) in 9:53.86.
Liverpool placed second in the Metro Division with a total team score of 97, and got two first-place finishes from senior Allie Cary. She placed in the top 25 in the state with her shot put distance of 36-6.50, and in the top 50 with her weight throw distance of 36-10.75.
Baldwinsville placed third with a total score of 70, led by senior Sydney McKenney on the pole vault with a top 25 in the state height of 10-6. Baldwinsville's 4x400 relay team of Mia Pozzi, Avamarie Davis, Clare Horan and Madison Kennedy took home first place with a time of 4:15.94.
Nottingham junior Miyanah Robinson set a personal record with her top 25 in the state time of 8.79 in the 55 hurdles, and she ranked in the top 50 in the state with her first-place finish in the high jump (5-2).
West Genesee junior West Genesee also took the top spot in the 1,500-meter run with her personal record time of 4:59.85.
