Cicero-North Syracuse steals show at Section III indoor track and field state qualifiers
Track and field athletes from across Section III competed in the state qualifiers inside Onondaga Community College's SRC Arena on Tuesday. The top finishers earned a berth in the NYSPHAA track and field championships on Staten Island. One team finished atop the podium significantly more than the rest. Cicero-North Syracuse had nine first-place finishes, more than double the next closest school's total of four.
On the girls side, Anna Eells and Jaydin Mackey led the way for the Northstars. Both athletes secured two individual first-place medals. Eells placed first in the high jump (5-08) and triple jump (37-04). Mackey clinched first in the 55-meter dash (07.35) and 55-meter hurdles (08.25). Mackey also helped C-NS's 800-meter relay team secure the top spot on the podium with a time of 1:45.27. Full girls' results.

C-NS finished with the most first-place finishers on the boys side as well. Standout Camron Ingram clinched his third consecutive state appearance thanks to a time of 07.23 in the 55-meter hurdles. The junior followed that up with a second-place showing in the 55-meter dash. The Northstars also received individual first-place showings from Tyler Graham in the 600-meter run (1:26.85) and Anthony Johnson in the triple jump (45-09). C-NS's 3,200-meter relay team also topped the podium at 8:32.26.
