Five Section III squads competed at the New York State Competitive Cheerleading Championships on Saturday at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton
Two of those squads placed fourth in their respective classes. Cicero-North Syracuse reached the final round and scored 71.50 as a team.
Sandy Creek competed in Class D and qualified for the final round. The Comets' final score was 61.40.
Hannibal fell short of reaching the final in Class C. Hannibal came in sixth and finished with a score of 65.2.
In the co-ed division, Phoenix placed seventh with a score of 68.60. Indian River placed eighth in Class B (60.20).
Section VIII's Farmingdale (Class A), Section V's Hilton (Class B), Section XI's Mount Sinai (Class C), Section I's Tuckahoe (Class D) and Section XI's Ward Melville (Co-ed) each secured a state title on Saturday.
The Dalers finished with a score of 88.05, the Cadets recorded a score of 85.3, the Mustangs an 80, the Tigers a 78.65 and the Patriots an 85.80.
