Northstars have Lake “Affect” on BUCS. Sink Oswego 98-78

The Girls varsity Swimming & Diving team traveled to Oswego Wednesday evening and defeated the BUCS 98-78.  CNS set the tone in the 1st event placing 1st & 3rd in the 200 medley relay with Cassidy Payrot, Katelyn Stewart, Molly Gucciardi, and Leah Benedict turning in a 2:08.48, while Sydney Arrao, Addison Vavra, Ava Lawrence, and Bella Petralia placed 3rd in 2:34.86.  Leah Benedict was a double winner in the 200, and 100 free swimming 2:09.51 and 58.09 respectively.  Molly Gucciardi and Katelyn Stewart secured 1-2 finishes in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly.  Molly was also a double winner in the 200IM (2:37.15) and the 100 butterfly (1:12.79), while Katelyn placed 2nd in the 200IM with a time of 2;46.84, and had a tremendous comeback in the 100 butterfly to secure 2nd in a time of 1:16.35.  Cassidy Payrot placed 2nd in the 50 freestyle in 28.02, and 1st in the 100 back (1:06.54)  Sophia Sugre placed 1st in the diving event with a score of 223.0.  Brigid Gill placed 3rd in the 200 freestyle and secured a big win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:33.60.  Sydney Arrao secured a 1-2 finish in that same event turning in a season's best of 7:02.94.  Bella Petralia, Addison Vavra, Sophia Sugrue, and Brigid Gill placed 1st in the 200 free relay in a time of 2:10.43. In the final individual event CNS secured the win placing 2-3-4 in the 100 breaststroke with Addsion Vavra, Delanie Green, and Sydney Arrao swimming 1:29.48, 1:36.11, and 1:36.22 respectively.  CNS takes on the Wildcats from West Genesee next Wednesday at the Nottingham pool, 6pm
