Northstars Edge Oswego in Thrilling Victory, 90–86

The Northstars girls varsity swim team defended their temporary home waters in dramatic fashion on October 1st, pulling out a hard-fought 90–86 win over Oswego. The meet was a back-and-forth battle from start to finish, but CNS's clutch swims, and relay strength carried them to victory.

The Northstars opened strong with Liyah Williams, Addison Vavra, Katelyn Stewart, and Brynn Robillard leading the charge in the 200 medley relay, clocking 2:16.68 for first place. Acting as a force multiplier, the combination of Mallory Coyle, Mae Kelly, Ava Lawrence, and Maya Ranieri, powered CNS to third place and early points boost in that same event that energized the crowd.

In the 200 freestyle Brigid Gill and Delanie Green combined for a 2-3 finish with Sydney Arrao securing 4th that maintained the lead CNS established in the first event

CNS athletes shined across the board. Brynn Robillard came up big in the 100 butterfly, taking the win in 1:17.61. Delanie Green and Mae Kelly showed grit in the 100 freestyle, battling stroke for stroke to secure crucial second- and third-place finishes. Maya Ranieri kept the momentum alive in the sprints, capturing second in the 50 free before returning to contribute in the relays.

The Northstars' endurance was also on display in the 500 freestyle, with Sydney Arrao and Mallory Coyle grinding out valuable points against a tough Oswego distance crew, while Hailey Reynolds came from behind to beat Oswego's Sadie Wilson by just three tenths of a second!

Relays Seal the Win!

The relays proved decisive. CNS's squad of Gill, Vavra, Robillard, and Stewart claimed victory in the 200 freestyle relay with a thrilling 2:04.15 finish. The closing 400 free relay sealed the meet: McHale, Reynolds, Ranieri, and Coyle pushed the pace, holding off Oswego's late charge to clinch the Northstars' narrow four-point win.

The 90–86 final marked a statement for CNS, proving the team's unity and resilience. With strong individual swims and relay dominance, the Northstars showed they can rise to the moment and deliver under pressure.
