Cicero-North Syracuse did not play a perfect game in its win over Guilderland on Saturday.
It was a promising victory, however, for a Northstars team that is now undefeated through their first two games.
Spurred by a stellar 10-save performance by goalie Leyton Sullivan, Cicero-North Syracuse defeated Guilderland in an 11-5 contest.

"Today was a good step," C-NS coach Chuck Wilbur said. "Nothing was pretty and it didn't come easy, but we found a way to beat a really good team by six goals, so we'll take it."
Sophomore Donovan Chaney led the Northstars in scoring with three goals. He also added an assist. Tanner Long and Connor Bednarski finished with two goals apiece. Cy Liberman had one goal to go along with a team-high three assists.
Cicero-North Syracuse held the Flying Dutchmen to just one goal in the first half. Sullivan and Joseph Malecki were the anchors of the stout Northstars defense.
"It was a good win," Wilbur said. "I don't think we played our best lacrosse, but I don't know anyone that is at their best the second game of the year. It's kind of a work-in-progress and we've got a lot of young guys who are figuring out the varsity thing. So, watching them evolve, each game is going to be fun."
Cicero-North Syracuse (2-0) has another out-of-section test against Webster-Schroeder of Section V on April 6.
