The Cicero-North Syracuse boys lacrosse team opened its 2022 season with an 11-7 win over Bethlehem in a non-league game on Saturday. The win was the first for new Northstars coach Chuck Wilbur.

"It felt great to be on the sideline again," said Wilbur, who last coached the Onondaga Community College men's lacrosse team. "I love how these boys battled together and look forward watch these kids grow throughout the year."
The Northstars used a 5-2 second-quarter scoring advantage for a 7-4 halftime lead. Mason Blakeman had five goals and one assist and Ian Leahey added four goals in the win. Josh Kubala won six of seven faceoffs and had 10 ground balls in the game.
Cicero-North Syracuse is off until Thursday when it visits New Hartford in another non-league game,
