Behind a six-inning gem from Noah Wieczorek, the Cicero-North Syracuse baseball team evened their early-season record with their second win in a 9-1 road defeat of West Genesee.
The senior hurler allowed just one run on four hits and walked two to go along with seven strikeouts in the victory.
"He was dominant tonight," Northstars coach Kevin Rockwell said. "He was aggressive in all counts, threw strikes and didn't walk many guys. He let his guys field the plays."
The C-NS bats were led by Corey Cartier, who went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI, and Brian Bonin, who had one hit in just one official at-bat but drove in three while walking once and getting hit by a pitch.
"Offensively, we put the ball in play and didn't strike out a lot," Rockwell said.
In the loss, Daniel Davis pitched two scoreless, hitless innings for the Wildcats, while walking none and striking out four.
