In its first meet of the season the NYS 19th ranked Lady Northstars Swimming & Diving team set a blistering pace out of the gate clocking a 1st place finish with a time of 1:59.68 in the 200 medley relay.  Leading the aqua charge were Kate Gucciardi(8), Brittany Wood(10), Alayna Harbaugh(11) and Bryn Meyers(10).  Baldwinsville struck back with a 1st place finish in the second event, but the Northstars depth could not be contended with as Grace Devinney(11), Jeanna Vinette(11) and Erika Purdy(12) went 2-3-4 to out point the Bees.  Sprinters, Bryn Meyers, Alayna Harbaugh, and Cassidy Svoboda(9) placed 1-3-4 respectively with times qualifying them all for the Section III Championship meet at the end of the season.  Divers Madeline Thorne, and Kaitlyn Carroll put on a high flying spectacle with a 1-2 finish, and scores of 227.6 and 204.5 respectively.     Baldwinsville's Kaili Sacco narrowly edged out Bryn Meyers 59.01 to 59.10 for 1st place in the 100 freestyle.  Meyers, placing 2nd, was backed up by Harbaugh and Alexa Kulakowski(10) , in the event allowing the Stars to further pull away from the Bees.  The fatal "Sting" came in the 500 freestyle distance race as the Stars swept the event with Vinette placing 1st, followed by Devinney in 2nd, and Ryleigh Lenning(12) in 3rd.  Gucciardi raced to a close 2nd place finish in the 100 back with a lifetime best of 1:04.51, followed by Kulakowski, 1:12.79, and Jenna Lenweaver, 1:14.61.  Brittany Wood won the 100 Breaststroke in a time of 1:19.73, with Purdy and Cassidy Svoboda backing her up with a 2-3 finish.  CNS was able to sweep all 3 relays with a come from behind win in the 400 free relay comprised of Grace Devinney, Jeanne Vinette, Kate Gucciardi, & Alexa Kulakowski.  The Stars take on perennial Class C powerhouse Skaneateles next Thursday.  Good luck Swimmers & Divers!
