The Baldwinsville boys and girls bowling squads inched closer to locking up league titles following impressive victories over Cicero-North Syracuse on Thursday at AMF Strike 'N Spare Lanes.
If the Bees' teams can take care of business against Liverpool on Tuesday, Baldwinsville will go home with Salt City Athletic Conference Metro Division titles.
Baldwinsville coach Gary Peterson said that the boys' squad would have to bounce back from a loss to Liverpool last month, while the girls are in line to grab the league crown with ease.
Peterson said the boys' team executed a "pretty good win" against the Northstars, despite tough conditions at the bowling alley on Thursday. The lanes were "oilier than usual" and had a "bit more carry down" with the bowling balls, Peterson said, but the Bees handled it well.
"They made spares, good shots and adjusted. It's honestly why they won today," said Peterson, whose boys' team improved to 5-2.
For the girls, Peterson said the Bees "just keep rolling on" so far in their undefeated campaign (5-0).
"They keep going along and doing well," Peterson said.
