Cicero-North Syracuse hosts 21st annual co-ed track and field invitational

Section III athletes convened for the 21st annual Cicero-North Syracuse co-ed track and field invitational on Friday at C-NS High School.

The host Northstars, Liverpool, Bishop Grimes and Utica Proctor each garnered multiple event victories on the girls' side of the competition.

For the boys, Whitesboro, C-NS and Indian River each had multi-event winners.

Many of the athletes were coming off competing in the Salt City Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday.  

Girls meet

Bishop Grimes' Ella Reilly won the 2,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:02.19. Also for the Cobras, Rosalie Vincent was victorious in the 100-meter dash in 12.92 seconds.

Marcellus' Lorelei Riefler's top mark of 4-10 in the high jump garnered a first-place finish.

Liverpool's Allie Cary threw to wins in the shot put (39-3) and the discus throw (126-5). The squad's 4x100-meter relay of Sophia JaroszMia WrightMikayla Greene and Madelyn Devendorf were victorious in 50.98 seconds.

Westhill's Ashley Bolesh took first place in the 400-meter dash in 57.87 seconds. Also for the Warriors, Katherine Bendall won the triple jump at 34-5.25.

C-NS's Jaydin Mackey grabbed a win in the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.13). The Northstars' 4x800-meter relay of Marissa NavarraHannah BoyleAllison Moran and Cameron Sisk won with a combined time of 10:20.42.

For Christian Brothers Academy, Katherine Williamson raced to a win in the 800 meters (2:29.45). Skaneateles' Lucy Fleckenstein took home a win in the 3,000-meter run (11:06.89).

Vernon Verona Sherrill's Madelynn Jones won the long jump (16-11.5). Westmoreland's Emma Szarek finished first in the 1,500-meter run (4:52.1).

Utica Proctor's Chennia Locke was victorious in the 100-meter hurdles (15.63 seconds), while Omarianna Thompson won the 200-meter dash (27.88 seconds). Also for the Raiders, NyAshia Linen hit high marks in the wheelchair shot put (11-0) and discus (20-10) events.

Girls' results

Boys meet

Westhill's Carter Buckman reached high for a win in the pole vault event (11-0). Baldwinsville's Paul Clark placed first in the 800-meter run (2:03.97). Fayetteville-Manlius' Lugo Nwokedi leapt to a win in the triple jump (42-5.25).

C-NS's Davine BennettCamron IngramTrevon Walker and Jayceon McGrew won the 4x100-meter relay in 43.91 seconds. Also for the Northstars, Joseph Main was victorious in the discus throw (132-9).

In the 4x400-meter relay, C-NS's Christian KahrsJacob KlasenJames McConnell and Sean Graves won in 3:34.04.

Whitesboro's Jack Towns darted to victories in the 200 meters (22.94 seconds) and the 100 meters (11.39 seconds). His teammate, Patrick Wands, won the long jump (19-8).

Indian River's Joseph Raap grabbed wins in the 400-meter (1:01.11) and 110-meter (16.33 seconds) hurdles races. In the 4x800-meter relay, the Warriors' foursome of Quentin BrennonAnderson Burge, Ryan Gauthier and Elijah Johnston won in 8:49.63.

Utica Proctor's Chris Mateo reached a victory in the high jump (6-4). Cazenovia's Branden McColm pushed through the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the win in 10:45.97, and Vernon Verona Sherrill's Jordan Wingert raced to victory in the 1,600 meters (4:36.6).

For Pulaski, Luke Tighe won the 3,200 meters (9:20.41), out-racing the second-place finisher by over a minute. Westmoreland's Damian Simmonds dashed to victory in the 400 meters (51.41 seconds).
