GIRLS:
The Cicero-North Syracuse girls' unit finished with 162 points thanks to eight first-place showings throughout the meet. Liverpool came in second with 126.5 points while Baldwinsville's 82.5 points was good for third place. Utica Proctor (74 points) and Fayetteville-Manlius (52 points) wrapped up the top five.
"We had a great team performance," C-NS coach Greg Borton said. "We had lots of depth in certain events that we were able to capitalize on."
Anna Eells took first for the Northstars in all three of the jumping events. The freshman dominated the triple jump (39-2), long jump (18-0.75) and high jump (5-6).
C-NS had four other individual first-place finishes with Jaydin Mackey in the 100-meter dash (12.31), Grace Murray in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.84), Kennedy Jones in the 3,000-meter run (10:48.98) and Jasmine Ayre in the pentathlon (2423 points).
C-NS rounded out its first-place finishes with a stellar outing from the 4x100-meter relay team. The unit finished in 43.44 seconds.
Liverpool's second-place team finish came as a result of five different first-place finishes. Liverpool won four individual events and one relay event.

BOYS:
Baldwinsville, Cicero-North Syracuse, Fayetteville-Manlius, Henninger, Liverpool, Rome Free Academy, Utica Proctor and West Genesee faced off in the Section III Class AA track and field sectional championships on Monday.
The Baldwinsville boys and the Cicero-North Syracuse girls breezed past the competition en route to team sectional titles.
The Baldwinsville boys squad finished in first place with 173.50 points. The Bees outpaced all other teams by at least 50 points. C-NS came in second with a commendable 123 points. Liverpool (77 points) edged out West Genesee (76 points) for third place. Utica Proctor rounded out the top five with 43 points.
"I think it went great," Baldwinsville coach Bill Spicer said. "We had some guys who just performed. They knew it was going to come down to performance and they went out there and excelled."
The Bees racked up five first-place finishes throughout the meet. Noah Covert led the way with first place in both the 1,600-meter run (4:30.65) and the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:15.81).
Christopher Zellar was responsible for Baldwinsville's other individual first-place finish with a time of 51.10 seconds in the 400-meter dash. Zellar was also a part of the winning 4x400-meter relay team (3:31.21).
The Bees' final first-place unit was their 4x800-meter relay squad which finished with a time of 8:18.59.
"As a whole, the seniors did a tremendous job of stepping up and being leaders," Spicer said. "One of my messages to the underclassmen was, 'Make sure you do everything you can possibly do to make sure the seniors go out as champions.'"
Cicero-North Syracuse was right behind Baldwinsville with four first-place finishes. Senior Joseph Main took the top spot in both the discus throw (145-2) and the shot put (49-11.25).
Dylan Frost of West Genesee had a remarkable showing. The sophomore secured first in the 100-meter dash (11.07) and the 200-meter dash (22.65).
