On Wednesday night, three players scored over 30 points during the Northstars' 91-79 victory over the Cougars.
"I guess maybe because we played two days ago, we figured out how to score on each other," C-NS coach Kyle Martin said. "We kind of just went back-and-forth and I guess we we're playing up to 90 and we hit it first."
Sophomore Andrew Benedict finished with 31 points for C-NS and senior Reece Congel had 30. Junior Michael Gallo also chipped in 19 points on just eight shots.
"We kept it pretty simple and kind of put them in the high-ball screen," Martin said. "Andrew was able to attack downhill and either find Reece on the roll or the pop or create for himself. They were creating for each other, they were getting Michael the ball, who was hot tonight too. So it was really the high-ball screen between the two of them that got them each to 30 points."
Junior Jaiden Holloman finished with a game-high 37 for Corcoran, while senior Amir Reaves added 27.
"Amir and Jaiden are two of the better players in the section," Martin said. "And they were hot."
The Northstars were coming off an 87-71 victory over this Corcoran team on Monday, and a 69-59 win over Henninger last Friday.
"From where we were to start the season to now is night and day," Martin said. "We're just trying to get better. As the season goes on, we're facing different things and sometimes we've handled it well, sometimes we've lost, but we're just trying to get as good as we possibly can get before playoffs get here."
C-NS (10-3) next travels to Nottingham for a 7 p.m. matchup on Friday.
"Nottingham has a very good team, they are well coached, and have a couple star players," Martin said. "They play really good defense. And it was an overtime game last time we played, so we're expecting a battle. We'll prepare tomorrow and give it our best shot."
