Cicero-North Syracuse and Liverpool battled right through regulation on Wednesday, which pushed the teams' SCAC Metro opener into overtime.
The Northstars and Warriors once again went toe-to-toe in OT, but it was Alison Dimitrijevski's game-winning goal that gave C-NS (2-2-1) a 2-1 victory.

"It was a good win for us. It was somewhat of an even game," C-NS coach Jeremy Lenchert said.
The game was scoreless after the first half. In the second half, Liverpool came right out of the gate and gave itself a 1-0 lead.
The Warriors (2-1-1) hung on to their lead for much of the second half. That is, until the game clock ticked under a minute left to go in regulation.
With about 37 seconds to go, Grace Engle took the ball on a set piece and assist from Dimitrijevski, and kicked it past the Liverpool goalkeeper. With that, it was tied at 1-1 heading into OT.
"We felt confident we could tie it," Lenchert said.
The Northstars did not take much time to take over, as Dimitrijevski netted the clinching goal on a shot from outside of the 18.
"We knew going into OT, the momentum was in our favor," Lenchert said.
C-NS goalie Meghan McGrath finished with six saves.
"It was a fantastic performance for all of the players on the field," Lenchert said, noting most of his team is relatively new to varsity play. "That made the difference."
