Baldwinsville was led by Jenna Speich and Julia Speich, who each rolled 600-plus series.

"I was able play further right on the lanes today," said Jenna. "I focused on my angles, which I've been working on. It's important to make spares when you're not striking, and I made most of my spares today."

Jenna finished with a 628 series, which featured a 226 high game.

"I was able to work with my angles to be able to carry the stubborn corner pins," said Julia. "Using the heavy volume of oil in the middle of the lane to my advantage, I was able to put the ball in the oil at the right angle to lead it to the pocket."

Julia completed her three-game series with a 606 total and a high game of 259.

Jenna is averaging 201.9 pins a game and Julia is at 201.2.

"I want to work on keeping my swing loose and increasing my speed for the rest of the season," Jenna said. "I also want to focus on strengthening my mental game."

"I need to work on matching my equipment to the lane conditions to allow myself to carry the corner pins and score the best I can," said Julia.

"Jenna Speich is very disciplined in her approach to the game," said Baldwinsville coach Gary Peterson. "She is constantly demanding more from herself and consistently working on the fundamentals. Julia Speich is a shotmaker in every regard. An excellent spare shooter and lives in the pocket. Both Speich girls are very cool under pressure."

Samantha Hass turned in a 561 series with a 201 high game. "Sam Hass is a raw talent," said Peterson. "Only an eighth grader, she has a powerful release and has a great future ahead of her. She is a very talented softball pitcher as well."

Marissa Leone led C-NS with a 427 series that had a 172 high game.

Baldwinsville (8-0) will go against West Genesee on Thursday and Cicero-North Syracuse (5-2) will face Fayetteville-Manlius on Thursday.

"Our girls team is special because they never seem quit," said Peterson. "They have been put to the test this year by a very good Fulton team but didn't panic and won a tight match. They have won 46 straight matches dating back 2.5 years. They just know how to win."

Cicero-North Syracuse 7, Baldwinsville 0

Jacob Calabria rolled a 702 series to lead the Northstars to victory.

"I was getting around the ball very well today," said Jacob Calabria. "I stayed down and finished great with every shot and I hit my target every single time."

Calabria had a high game of 246 in his series.

"As I'm going further into this season, I need to keep continuing what I did today, staying down and consistent with every shot," said Calabria.

"Jake has been working very hard on his fundamentals and staying focused on each shot," said Cicero-North Syracuse coach Tom Feeney. "He did that very well today. He was staying down on his shots and being aggressive throwing the ball."

Four of his Northstars teammates turned in 500-plus series. Jonathan Artz had a 590 series and Nehemiah Bachman followed with a 589. Garrett Arnold added a 533 and Thomas O'Connell had a 506.

"The team has been working hard each day in practice on their basic fundamentals," said Feeney. "They have all been focused and staying with our plan of getting better each time we are together. The team as a whole has to continue to work on their spare shooting and staying focused on each and every shot. They are starting to understand that there are no easy shots and every shot has to be focused on. We will continue to fine-tune our fundamentals as we move throughout the remainder of the season."

Zenon Gasiorowski led Baldwinsville by rolling a 622 series and had a 215 high game.

"Zenon Gasiorowski is an eighth-grader with plenty of upside," said Peterson. "He's a two-hander but also can play the lanes straighter when he has to, which makes him versatile. He throws plenty of strikes."

Scott Ritcey turned in a 567 series with a 214 high game.

"Scott Ritcey is the boys captain and leads by example," said Peterson. "He is cool under pressure, a good spare shooter and coachable. He will determine how far we go."

Cicero-North Syracuse (2-3) will face Fayetteville-Manlius on Thursday while Baldwinsville (3-5) will go against West Genesee on Thursday.
