Liverpool downs Cicero-North Syracuse

The Liverpool boys basketball team placed four players in double figures and remained undefeated by beating Cicero-North Syracuse, 74-71, on Friday.

"Both teams played really hard," said Liverpool coach Ryan Blackwell after the team's fourth-straight win. "CNS is well-coached and hit a lot of tough shots."

The Warriors were led by Andreo Ash with a season-high 23 points. Jacob Works added 17, Bruce Wingate 11 and Nicolas Toscano 10.

"Andreo Ash was huge for us today and we had solid contributions from Jacob Works, Nick Toscano and several others," said Blackwell. "I'm pleased that a team so young -- as we start two freshmen -- is so resilient and playing well this early in the season."

Liverpool is averaging 71 points per game while allowing 62 points through four games.

Blackwell concluded by saying, "We still have a lot to improve on though ..."

The Northstars put four players in double figures as well, led by Luke Paragon with 19 points. Brian Bonin and Kevin Felasco each had 15 points and Noah Wieczorek added 13.
