Cicero-North Syracuse junior leads pack of 9 Section III girls golfers to state tourney

Cicero-North Syracuse junior leads pack of 9 Section III girls golfers to state tourney
Nine Section III girls golfers punched their tickets for the New York State Tournament after competing in the state qualifier match at The Cedar Lake Club in Clayville on Thursday.  Cicero-North Syracuse junior
Chloe Tice received final-round medalist honors after she shot a 78. Tice scored an 83 in the first round on Tuesday.  "It was a fantastic round for Chloe," C-NS coach Chuck Banks said. "She felt like she was hitting the ball well today."Despite wet conditions on the course, Banks said that Tice worked through the rain.  "Chloe excelled. Her short game was unbelievable and she was making putts," Banks said. "She is one of the hardest workers, and she is always looking to improve. She does everything and more you could ask of a player."Banks noted that Tice, who is taking her fourth trip to states, is aiming for a finish within the top 25. "That's our goal," Banks added. "We'll be putting in some extra preparation because she'll be facing some good golfers. She comes from a golf family, so she's very knowledgeable about the game. She's always looking for feedback, as well."
