NYSPHSAA Executive Director Visits Northstar Nation Leadership Class

On April 10^th, Dr Robert Zayas, Executive Director of the NYSPHSAA spoke to the CNS Leadership class on the lessons he learned from the pandemic, how he is leading the navigation of both the private vs public schools debate in athletics and underrepresented communities initiatives along with handling difficult questions from the class regarding topics ranging from recruiting rules to transgender athletes. The message he left with the class was leaders have to do two things unconditionally: they have to genuinely care and they have to be available as he displayed to the class his personal cell phone number on the NYSPHSAA website something he believes no other executive director in any state has made available to the public.
