The Baldwinsville girls lacrosse team had to battle hard to win its seventh consecutive game on Saturday against visiting Cicero-North Syracuse, but with a mix of experienced upperclassmen and younger underclassmen, they got the job done.
Senior Emma Gebhardt posted a team-high seven points on five goals and two assists, and fellow members of the class of 2021 Olivia Muscolino and Tiffany Natoli each registered three-goal hat tricks in the 18-15 win. Junior Grace Hollenbeck tallied a hat trick with three scores and one assist as well, while sophomore Sophia Muscolino tallied three goals for the team's fifth hat trick.
"A few underclassmen are stepping up offensively. Sophia Muscolino and Carlie Desimone are sophomores," Bees coach Megan Tabor said. "Carley stepped up Thursday with a couple of goals and Sophia had a couple of goals today."
"We really cleaned up a lot of the little things," the coach said of the streak. "It made a big difference and it boosted the girls' confidence."The Northstars traded goals with Baldwinsville most of the day and the game was tied 7-7 at halftime. Tabor's group was either tied or in the lead for the entire second half though, as the win streak moved past half a dozen.
In the loss, Francesca Tortora had a monster performance with a game-high 11 points on five goals and six assists, and Brooke Molchanoff contributed four goals.
