Plenty of Division I talent on hand this afternoon at C-NS as the Northstars welcomed in Nottingham. Toledo bound senior Jessica Cook poured in 28 points, helping C-NS hold off Nottingham 68-60. Â
Heading into the fourth quarter with a 52-35 lead the Cicero-North Syracuse girls basketball team seemed to have its game with Nottingham well in hand.
But Bulldogs senior Amaya Williams would have no part of that as she scored 21 of her game-high 39 points in the final quarter. However, the Northstars held of a 68-60 win.
"Amaya was a huge challenge for us today," said C-NS head coach Rob Siechen. "She controlled the game on the offensive end of the floor. She was very good off the dribble and hit quite a few key shots."Â Â
But in the fourth quarter Northstars senior Jessica Cook, also came up big, netting nine of her team-high 28 points.
"Jess was our rock today, she controlled the boards, she has 20 rebounds and was very productive on the offensive end of the floor," said Siechen.
Cook had help from teammates Alexa Kulakowski, with 18 points and Alita Carey-Santangelo with 12 points.
