The third time was the charm for the Liverpool boys volleyball team when it came to playing rival Cicero-North Syracuse for the Division I sectional title on Saturday at Liverpool High School.
The Warriors swept the Northstars, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-15.

Liverpool had lost only two matches all season, and both came against Cicero-North Syracuse.
"I've just been trying to convince them that those losses, those sets, those points (against Cicero-North Syracuse) don't carry forward," said Liverpool coach Fred Terzini. "We start 0-0 in sets and 0-0 in points. And maybe, most importantly, that there's a difference between playing to win and playing not to lose."
One of the keys to the victory today, according to Terzini, was keeping the team's unforced errors to a minimum.
"Serve and serve receive in a nutshell. C-NS is so well-coached , talented and disciplined that handing them points from behind the service line is the equivalent of two. We missed only six serves the entire match and gave ourselves a chance. I'm just so proud of this team and happy that they'll always have this experience."
This is the first Division I championship for Liverpool since 2006. The Warriors have won eight sectional titles in boys volleyball.
