Normally when we talk about the so-called "Star-Wars" Rivalry it means the trophy that used to be up for grabs in the football field.
But in this 2020-2021 school year where the football season has already been pushed to the spring, the return of any sporting event at the interscholastic level means something special.
So mark it down, on Monday the C-NS and Liverpool Boys Golf Teams squared off at Lakeshore Country Club in Cicero.
The Northstars earned the win 197-229. Mason Ellis fired an impressive 37 and Jake Nardozza notched a 39 in the nine-hole round.
Obviously the point of competition is determining a winner but make no mistake.
Just being able to compete is a special feeling in 2020.
"It's super important" says C-NS senior Damon Villnave.
"Not only do these sports help us be competitive they help us build friendships that last well into our adulthood. I think it's super important to be out here, in the fresh air, staying healthy and staying active. I think it's important especially because we were in quarantine for six months. It's nice to be out here doing something different."
