CNS Boys Swimming and Diving Sinks Oswego

On Tuesday the boys varsity swim team swam at home against Jamesville Dewitt at LeMoyne College. CNS came into the meet after posting multiple top ten times in section 3 in their first two meets. Including the second fastest time in the section in both the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay. The Northstars opened the meet by winning the 200 Medley Relay. The relay team of Dillon Johnson, Connor Burke, John Harbaugh, and Seaver Schultz topped JD's best relay team by nearly 3 seconds. Logan Petralia followed up with a win in the 200 Freestyle. Seaver Schultz was also a winner in 3 more events, the 50 and 100 Freestyle events as well as the 400 Free Relay. Both teams traded the lead throughout the meet. It had looked as though CNS had won the meet in dramatic fashion having taken first and second place in the final relay only to have their hopes dashed by having a relay disqualified due to a false start. The team showed great resolve, despite missing several key swimmers to illness.
On Thursday, still feeling the frustration from Tuesday's loss, the team traveled to Oswego for its first away meet. The team swam brilliantly winning 6 events and outscoring Oswego in all but 2 swimming events. Newcomer Sawyer Powell won the backstroke, John Harbaugh won the 200 free, and Connor Burke won the 100 Butterfly. Sprinter Logan Petralia, one of the top sprinters in Section 3, swam away from the competition in the 500 freestyle, high school swimming's longest event. Congratulations to all of the boys on outstanding swims.
